The Recreation Centre is looking to fill several positions with high energy, enthusiastic and creative individuals.  

Lifeguards 

Hours and availability vary throughout the year. Mornings, mid-day, afternoon, evenings, weekends, etc. Guarding duties include overseeing the pool for safety during lap swimming, youth swim classes, youth free swim, and swim clinic/team practices. Please contact Julia Ward jward@jwhayden.org 

Training opportunities are offered throughout the year. 

Swim Instructors 

Hours and availability vary throughout the year. Mornings, afternoon, evenings, weekends, etc. Instructors will teach youth members based on American Red Cross level lesson plans. Please contact Julia Ward jward@jwhayden.org

Assistant Group Leaders - Hayden After School

Available hours are Monday – Friday 4:00 – 6:15.  We do have flexibility with days and scheduling throughout the school year.  Individuals should be able to assist in leading students through a variety of activities at the Centre. Applicants must be 16 years of age. Please contact Hayden After School Program Director at has@jwhayden.org. 

Boys Locker Room Attendant 

Hours are Monday-Thursday 4:00-6:30pm and Friday 3:45-6:15pm; days are flexible. Locker room attendants will supervise participants taking part in the Aquatics programs primarily from the Hayden After School program. The attendant will take attendance for Hayden After School participants, supervise these participants making sure they get changed in a timely manner before and after swim classes, store their belongings appropriately in lockers, and that they are following rules and being safe. The attendant will also make sure that all other members and their guardians utilizing the locker room facilities are following rules, being safe, keeping the locker room area clean, and assisting members as needed.
